Taste & See

Last night was the first night of Outflow, a 5-8 week journey of outward-focused living in an inward-focused world.

I was encouraged last night by the new faces and I hope that they’ll continue to be a part of the men’s group at CFC. I thank God for supplying the courage it took for those men to walk through the door.

Think about it, you don’t really know anybody (maybe you know a couple of guys there), you don’t know what to expect, you don’t know what will be required… basically you’re walking into the unknown. Waaaayyyy out of your comfort zone.

I stand up and applaud that kind of courage. That walk through the door on Monday night could be the first steps in growing closer to God. It could be the first steps in becoming the husband and father God has called them to be. It could be the first steps in reconciling relationships.

Here’s one thing for sure: God has given us this life to be enjoyed and cherished to the fullest. He has given us more than just heaven, although that’s enough by itself. No, He’s given us much more. He’s given us abundant life! And it’s not an abundance of “stuff”. It’s the intangibles we talked about at the opening last night.

We just need to “drink” it in. We’ll never be thirsty again. For the next several weeks, are you ready to “taste and see that the Lord is good”? (Psalm 34:8)

For those who missed last night, I have ordered more books. We are reading one “reading” per day (five per week). You can read along HERE . The entire first week’s reading is there. Do one reading per day/5 per week. Stop at p.50.
