Pastor Jeff’s sermons during this “It’s a Rescue Mission” series really have me thinking. Yes, G.W., I do think every now and then.

Yesterday’s message was no exception. What caught my attention was his use of The Great Commission during the message. You know the Great Commission. Jesus says:

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…

And then P.J. broke it down further. He explained that “Go” looks different for everyone. We’re all different… we lead different lives… we have different jobs that we go to everyday… we have different hobbies… our days are as diverse and different as we are.

When Jesus says “Go”, He means that we need to take our everyday lives with our everyday moments and use them to offer “the rope of hope”.

Look at one of my favorite verses, Romans 12:1, in The Message®…

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.

We’re not all called to deliver Sunday sermons, but we ARE all called to use our everyday lives as a “Rescue Mission”.

Tomorrow… more about The Great Commission.
